The Sunday Blues...

That's right, it's Sunday night, back to the grind tomorrow... We've have had a bit of a rough weekend. We all have a cold at different stages - Sofia - baseline runny nose from day care which has worsened a bit the last few days, Lars - the torture is just beginning, Me - stable sinus congestion, no longer dripping spontaneously but continuous pressure and a very hoarse voice. This contributed to my "worst call night of entire residency-so far" on Friday night. It was 18 hours of pure hell. Being sick, topping the list, combined with being very busy, crappy, CRAPPY consults, and no voice by morning. Let's just say UGHHH, and leave it at that.

On a more up-beat note, there have been NO squirrels in the garbage can yet! There are a few new bite marks but no new holes and they haven't figured out how to get through the wire just yet.

We had a lovely cup of coffee this evening over at the neighbor's - Ben and Kiera (and dog George the greyhound). Ben has a nice espresso machine and likes to make us fancy coffee. I had a cappuccino and Lars had a hard-core espresso. We ate some yummy chocolates and figs with caramelized sugar on top. Sofia had a delightful time as well. She and George are best friends!! Ben and Kiera are quite fond of her too (for some reason!) - or at least they fake it well. HAHA. Sofia decided to re-name herself so from now on she is called "Chicken-Cone". She laughed hysterically after making this up. Kiera graduated last spring from the same Visual Studies program that Lars is in, so there was lots of chatting about art this evening - very interesting conversations.

Just Chillin'


Pappa was cleaning the dining room and lined the chairs in the kitchen - Sofia decided it was a "choo-choo train" and everyone had to ride: including me, her babies (in the baby stroller behind her) and Pappa as well at one point. She even had to eat lunch on the train.


I am including this only because my child is SO WEIRD! She just woke up from her nap, came down the stairs, went right outside in her t-shirt and underware to sit on the front steps, then when asked to come back in she proceeded to take this position...She may have converted religions??? Or maybe just wanted to moon the street...
