Yes, we do live in the "ghetto", the "white coat ghetto" behind the hospital where tons of other residents/med students/and poor new attendings-who are just itching to move to the suburbs-(Anatole and Jessica! Ha!) live. We had our first real warm day of the summer last week - it reached 88 degrees. Whew... Anatole and Jessica's house has very little yard space, but we decided to have our weekly (sometime bi- or even tri-weekly) BBQ. We then turned the sprinkler on the black top of the driveway and let the kids go at it! Yes, it's ghetto - but so be it! It cooled the whole back yard off! and the kids were delighted. Just to add to the effect, we let them run around in skivies/pull-ups - who needs swimsuits.
