Yep - that's right. Landscaping... It's tough work... We had some ugly bushes in the front and needed to level this are out....we decided that we would put rock in next to the foundation...man, this is heavy work...Also - 4 yards of dirt is A LOT of damn dirt!
Step 1: Dig up the big "trunks" of the bushes and dig up the grass so that we can level this out....ugh...
Step 2: Sit on the steps while husband dumps loads and loads of topsoil using the Radioflyer wagon - good thing mom and rich got us the heavy duty one with the big wheels and wooden sides!
Step 3: Dig up the back yard....This was a bit harder - it is all clay...yuk. Then hauled what seemed like millions of loads of dirt in the Radio flyer...believe it or not...it looks better. Rocks will not go out this far, but it needed to be leveled. After we finish the rocks - we will plant grass....ugh.

transplanted the pachysandra on the left to this side of the house....(need more mulch on the right!)
This is where the 4-yards of dirt was dumped! Finally spread the rest of it out into this flower bed today....whew, that was a lot of dirt! Plus, this bed had not been given some TLC in a couple of years....
new topsoil....nice.
All nice and level in the front!! again, rocks will not go out this far, we will plant grass after the rocks are finished.
We are not looking forward to a couple of tons of rock being dumped into the yard and hauling that heavy stuff..but will be nice to have it done!
