Post 3. Krakow - The Dragon

Sofia has been waiting, just waiting to see this dragon in Poland.  About 2 months ago, Ralph told Sofia the story of the dragon in Krakow.  Ever since then, I have had to repeat the story (too many times to count...) and when Lars purchased a "guide to Krakow book" and the reference to the dragon was there, we have read this many times as well.

So, without further ado, here is the story of the dragon:  The Wawel Dragon.
"Wawel Hill was once terrorised by a dragon, and in good fairy-tale fashion, the king offered his daughter's hand to anyone who vanquished it.  One plucky youth left a sheepskin filled with sulphur for the dragon.  The dragon's stomach burned so much when he ate it that he rushed to the river and drank until he exploded."

Wawel Hill - and the Castle - it is huge - much more than the picture shows.
Another view of the castle.
Ahhhhh, finally!  The dragon!!
Sofia was thrilled
and it breathes fire!
